About Joann

I am a native Long Islander. I established my early

roots in the central part of LI and raised my family

on the south shore of Suffolk County, Long Island.

I have learned from my early experience in school

that people are not all they can be. I have two older  siblings who would pick on me, but that is family,

and I was bullied for years in elementary school  because of my last name, living on welfare due to

my father becoming disabled, and my weight.

Being a chubby girl and on welfare during those

years was not easy, but it did teach me a lot about

how I want to treat others.

My professional career started in Manhattan,

working for Bache, Halsey, Stuart, and Shields, Inc.,

a brokerage firm in downtown Manhattan across from  Pace University. It was fun at times, but the commute

was tough. I was 19 years old and working in the

Big City. My career has expanded from working for

the government to retail as counter manager of

Estee Lauder for Lord & Taylor to being a successful  department manager to store manager for several  stores, and then to running 3 locations for a big  accounting/tax firm. I was very successful in my

jobs because of my work ethic and the listening skills I  learned. Along the way, I obtained the people skills I  needed to become the professional I am today, not to  mention my passion for my clients and their success.

My passion for helping others who struggle with

self-confidence and their ability to relate or  communicate well with others is why I started

YPI Consultants. I have developed professional  programs using the skills and knowledge I have  learned to build confidence in myself and others

 over the years.

I am also a big fan of running. Great for the mind

and body. I have completed the NYC Marathon twice:  the Rhode Island Marathon, which for me was 29  miles - It's not a well-organized run, and there are  several 5k's around Long Island.

I also enjoy being with my family and friends,

local charity work and just chilling with my hubby.

If you wish to share your experiences with me, don't hesitate to reach out and book a time on my calendar to chat over coffee or on the phone.

I am excited to hear from you.
